We went to max patch today an awesome ride

All the mountaintops were covered in this ice they were covered in snow. For the most part the roads were too but not the slick kind.
They had scraped the gravel roads where there was about one inch of snow left on them. Then it looked like pretty heavy traffic
Had packed the snow into a very drivable surface. Much better than the south sides of the mountains, they were the slickest of mud. The mud covered
The car.
This was the first time I have been to max patch after hearing about it all of my life. It lived up to all expectations! A snow covered mountaintop no trees just fields for miles. At the top you could see a group of about twenty people sledding .A good looking sled run about three hundred yards long .I wish I had brought a sled I wish even more I had a sled like we seen on top of a Subaru. An old fashioned one with metal blades that you liked to keep waxed and steered with a cross bar on the front. One of those and a cup of hot chocolate when you get to the bottom would be good living.
We walked a couple hundred yards up a trail around the top of the mountain examining the ice formations closer. One side of all the branches had about one inch of a cross between ice and snow. We even tasted some me proclaiming, “They taste like the latest flavor of dipping dots”.
Snow also covered the ground. Drifts were about a twelve inches deep but you could still see tuffs of grass coming out of the field. A very tasty powder also.
We will have to pay this place a visit again, soon I hope.
We leave winding our way through alternating snow then mud covered dirt roads. Coming out in Del Rio Tennessee. We stop at a country store for fresh snacks and then we head home. What a ride what a mighty fine ride.
