I was spreading mulch on Biltmore Ave. On Thursday when a few snow flakes paid me a visit . You could tell by the way they danced around that they were "scouts" preparing for an invasion. They invaded last night. We got up too about three inches of white fluffy stuff I just raised up in bed arranged the pillows so I could sit up comfortably and just watched out the French doors as the snow continued to fall. Finally I got up and made me a cup of tea while my bath water was drawn. What a easy Sunday morning. By the time I had enough wrinkles to get out of the tub the sun was coming out and I could see the asphalt on the roads so I got dressed for a bike ride .It did not take long to realize what a great ride this would be .Although I had planned to just ride around the block the beauty of the fresh snow and relative warmth around 35 degrees convinced me to travel further. I ended up at earth fair got me and sherri some ground beef patty's with Swiss cheese and mushrooms already added and a small loaf of French bread I already have some sweet potatoes to cook with it. With supper shopping finished i headed out the door in the brief few minutes that i was in the store the clouds had invaded and it was snowing hard! Words are hard to find to describe how nice it was though the hushed silence that only snow brings, less cars, the smell of snow and less cars priceless. I zig zagged all through west Asheville enjoying every minute of the ride. Houses, trees, gardens everything seemed so new an begging to be explored but i relented and came home. The thought of supper i have cooking now does make me feel somewhat better about coming home
